Thanks to these elements it is a popular destination to hold your wedding there. Wedding photography in Halkidiki has a special aura as it resembles a wedding on an island.
The wedding video
Halkidiki is the place where Alexia and Thanasis chose to hold their wedding day. A couple who from the first moment wanted to organize a real party for themselves and for all their guests. Alexia organized most of the day and everything went great! She managed to make her wedding unforgettable both for us and for the whole world.
The preparations
A wedding in Halkidiki is directly associated with a lively mood, sea and summer mood. So that’s exactly how Alexia’s preparation as a bride was. It took place in a fantastic hotel in Paliouri, at Villa D’oro. The villa was really well looked after as well as the whole hotel space. So as a wedding photographer I wanted to highlight every little detail but at the same time capture the vibes. The goal is always to shoot in a way that shows all the mood that was present on the wedding day and not to “set things up”.
The preparation of the groom was done in Pefkohori. Together with friends and relatives we created a very dynamic atmosphere where all the people and the groom’s family enjoyed these moments.
The ceremony
The wedding took place in Nea Skioni and specifically in the church of Agios Nikolaos. The whole ceremony was very relaxed and without any pressure and stress.
Immediately after the ceremony followed the wedding photo shoot of the same day. I chose some special spots in the New Shadow that combined with the magical light made the result stand out. We were photographed in minimal time but all the shots were taken during golden hour. This hour offers the best quality light before sunset so all the shots have a unique colour.
Reception at the Navagos Beach Bar
The wedding reception was held at Navagos Beach Bar. A beach bar – trademark for Halkidiki. There the tables had been decorated and a special set up had been chosen by the couple. Really the reception venue was transformed and combined with the full moon that day it became an amazing setting.
The party that followed says it all ! The couple and guests really had a blast and we all had a unique evening. All the organisation and the right mood contributed to a really successful wedding in Halkidiki.
What I will really remember from this wedding – apart from the pictures – is what Alexia said to me : She told me that “you are the conductor of the day”. This is the secret that makes a successful wedding photographer. To be able to stand out not just for the images – but for the overall presence at the wedding.
