The magic of weddings on islands is unique. So this particular intimate wedding in Ammouliani had a unique character. Of course the couple responsible for this was the couple who organized something special.
The wedding was the next event after a unique bachelorette party organized by Natasha and I was there to cover those moments!
The wedding planning
Always a destination wedding needs a lot of attention and organization as the demands are very high. Therefore, the communication we had with the couple and specifically with the bride Natasha plays a key role in this. She was a person who understood the important role the wedding photographer plays for this special day. So together, we planned the details and discussed everything that would happen at their wedding.
Of course, the essential was the right vibes and the chemistry that existed to create a unique result. When choosing a photographer for your wedding, pay a lot of attention to settling on a professional who has the drive and desire to do something unique and not just cover your day.
The wedding in Ammouliani
Ammouliani is the unique, beautiful island of Halkidiki. As I have mentioned many times a wedding in Halkidiki manages to steal the impressions as it is so close to Thessaloniki, but giving the feeling of the island.
So in Ammouliani you will find both the beauties of Halkidiki and the grace of the island. Think of it as a must-destination!
The wedding day started with the preparations of Natasha and Vangelis. Natasha got ready at the Agionissi Resort Hotel. As mentioned before the whole wedding was intimate – guests were only the close family. So, her beloved relatives were at the hotel to help her get ready. I took advantage of the outdoor areas of the hotel to photograph both the details and the whole preparation as a whole. I set the pulse and mood of the shoot based on Natasha’s character. This is the secret to a successful wedding shoot, to give the right pulse based on the couple’s character.
The preparation of Vangelis took place at his home. There I found the ideal background for the photo shoot, which was the terrace of the house overlooking the Aegean Sea. What better and more typical for an island wedding?
After completing the preparations we were ready for the wedding ceremony. The church the couple chose was Agios Georgios on the homonymous beach of Ammouliani. A picturesque chapel next to the sea and the blue waters of Halkidiki. The wedding took place there and afterwards we took our family photos.
The time of the wedding was chosen in such a way that we have the beneficial light of the golden hour in our photo shoot on the same day. So we chose various locations to photograph both the couple and the groomsmen. This golden colour, combined with the romantic mood of the couple worked incredibly well.
After we completed the photo shoot, we had a reception and dinner at Tzanis restaurant. In a beautifully decorated space, the whole family dined on the restaurant’s excellent selections.
All in all, it was a wedding full of energy, demands and dedication to the perfect outcome!
